What others have said about the Inspiring Women Programme:
“I have seen that my fear of failure, inauthenticity in close relationships, always trying to please other people and my limiting beliefs hold me back. The impact of this is that I restrict what I try, say or do and as a consequence I don’t grow and develop or try new things” Louise, mother and small business owner
“I now feel anything is possible if I choose to do it! I still feel a bit hesitant but am prepared now to have the “courage” to consider it and grasp opportunities and be positive about it!” Tracy, mother and business manager
“I am responsible for how my life pans out, no one else just me. I feel I have the power to move it in whatever direction I choose.” Jan, mother and teacher
“My limiting beliefs have been a barrier. I was stuck in between grief from the past and what I made it mean to me. I had cut off parts of who I could be and was perpetuating the very things that I didn’t want because they were my focus!” Jane, full time single mum
“Working as a group-have learnt as much from others sharing their experiences as talking about and learning from my own.” Kay, business owner
How the programme came about…
About 5 years ago I realised that I was spending time and energy on either trying to be a good wife or to be a great mum to my two boys, which left little time for me. I no longer felt good at my part time job, and I felt as if I was marking time, but not knowing what for. With both my boys going off to school I realised that I didn’t want to spend the rest of my own time doing a job I no longer found exciting or fulfilling. I happened to come into contact with a Coach and after much deliberation, took the plunge and signed up for some coaching. My life was transformed and I chose to retrain and become a coach myself. I now love what I do, it fits with my family and I get to chose when I work.
I look back now and realise that it took courage to take that first step. I had no idea what might come out of the coaching, so it was a big risk. But I’m so glad I did it, as the benefits have been far greater than I could ever imagine.
I know there are many women who have been or are in similar positions. The easy thing to do is nothing and to continue with what you know, it feels safe. The downside of that is that you may always feel that there is something more for you. Quite often women lack self confidence and self belief, or they feel they have somehow ‘lost’ their identity, having put so much energy looking after everyone else’s needs.
I believe many women sell themselves short, especially when it comes to seeking employment. They undervalue the skills they have and so don’t go for the work that would truly fulfill them. The Inspiring Women Programme is designed specifically for women to overcome some of the obstacles which prevent them leading fulfilling lives.
